Update! September 2000

In September 2000 World Challenge, Inc. contacted me requesting that make note of Dave's responce on my page. Therefore, I have added this link. I had been dilatory in making this update because I was embarrassed for Dave, who, we had always greatly respected. Nevertheless, in a spirit of cooperation we are making this adjustment.

After twice contacting Dave and receiving no reply, I posted my original web page. A little later I did receive the attached letter (Attached Below) in which Dave said that my assertions about Hanna Hurnard and Mount Zion were "a bunch of poppycock." (This is the Pennsylvania Dutch word for soft dung. Look it up!) I couldn’t believe he would curse me in that way. Because Dave was from Pennsylvania, he apparently knew this word. Finally, he told me not bother him any more.

Now, two years later (July 2000) a peculiar thing has happened. I was leaving the house when a singularly strong message stopped me in my tracks. I was made to understand that someone would try to poison me. (Never have I been so warned.) I shook my self and assumed that my thyroid was getting to be over active but in a little while the sick feeling lifted. I went to a funeral then went on the Post Office. There, Pastor Dave’s letter was waiting. He offered me a paid trip to New York with a fine place to stay and airline tickets and services in the wonderful (my description) Times Square Church. (Very Tempting) We would also be able to meet him face to face in his office. Was this offer the poison of a kind of bribe or is there something else a foot? Dave would certainly frame this as an honest attempt at reconciliation. In any event I cannot go at this time and the issues at Mount Zion do not appear to be resolved.

Dave now informs me that Hannah’s books are no longer used at Mt. Zion. Yet, two years ago he also denied that Hannah's writings were a guiding light ("major teaching") as I then asserted. (One person contacted me saying that they had been accepted to Mt. Zion for the Spring of 2001. They further stated that Hannah Hurnard's "Hinds Feet" is still on the schedule. I wish I could confirm their asserition.) Attached below is a copy of my son's report card. Notice that Chapel was part and lot with Hannah’s Hinds Feet book. We know that President Catherine was preparing her own book at that time. Is that book now being used in the place of Hannah's writings that she then described as being "inspired by the Holy Ghost"?

It becomes apparent that unless the leadership at Mount Zion is changed, then we must assume that the principals gleaned from Hannah’s heresies are ongoing and well. They were defiantly being taught at that time; as the testimony of students and material documentation indicate.

My Son's Report Card:

I wrote Dave about Hannah's heresies and informed him that when my son returned for his internship, he would bring along Hannah's other books. Perhaps things could be turned around? I explained these books would prove to be most revealing and would clearly demonstrate just how far afield Hannah's theology had erred. Dave was not amused. Sense all the students were given copies of Hannah's writings and the storage room had shelves of her texts ready for distribution; why such a fevered response? Why not explore the facts?
