The wood has a tight grain, and is stronger than Bubinga.{ Click here for a picture of the wood }
The Heartwood is bright red to reddish or purplish brown. More or less distinctly striped, luster medium to high. Moderately to extremely hard and heavy. Takes a high natural polish, however may be dyed to add darker wood tones.
Balsam of Peru does have a nicer grain. More pictures of these sticks will be posted later. By using these woods, I can still make the product at a fair price and maintain the high standard of quality and strength I demand for street duty.
